FaceMe News - CyberLink Releases FaceMe® Security 8.0, Enhancing Smart Security Experiences and Accelerating Large-Scale Project Deployment
Taipei, TAIWAN – March 5, 2025 – CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a pioneer in AI and facial recognition technologies, today announced the latest release of FaceMe Security, introducing advanced AI-powered surveillance features to enhance security and access control. FaceMe Security 8.1 is a turnkey security solution that enables identity verification, attendance management, and access control through AI facial recognition, with real-time monitoring and alerts. The latest update introduces two powerful surveillance Add-Ons—"Repeated Stranger Alert" and "Virtual Fence” —designed to strengthen security operations by detecting potential threats before incidents occur. Seamlessly integrating with major VMS platforms, FaceMe Security allows businesses to upgrade their existing video surveillance systems effortlessly, delivering an efficient, cost-effective way to enhance security measures.

As the name implies, the Repeated Stranger Alert Add-On will trigger an alert notification when a stranger is repeatedly detected. Users can select specific cameras and establish criteria for identifying repeated appearances, such as the employee entrance, or 2 or more detections in a 30-minute period. Upon repeated detection of the same stranger, an alert will be sent out and security personnel can determine the proper course of action.

To minimize unnecessary alerts, an Exception List is available to exclude known but unregistered individuals, such as building cleaning crews, security personnel, deliverymen, or maintenance workers. The Repeated Stranger Alert Add-On is particularly beneficial for factories, school campuses, office complexes, and government buildings, helping organizations enhance security by proactively identifying potential threats.

The Virtual Fence Add-On enhances FaceMe Security’s AI-powered surveillance capabilities by introducing line crossing detection and loitering detection, providing a smarter and more proactive approach to security monitoring. Expanding on CyberLink’s vision AI tools such as People Tracker, this add-on enables FaceMe Security users to deploy line crossing detection and loitering detection to their legacy video surveillance systems.

Instead of replacing old cameras and installing new cameras with built-in AI, FaceMe Security users can simply add the Virtual Fence Add-On and select the existing cameras to deploy line crossing or loitering detection as needed, helping to reduce total costs to upgrade. Users can customize settings such as the direction of line crossing or loitering duration times. When an event occurs, the system generates a thumbnail preview with key details, including timestamp, duration, and video footage, allowing for quick assessment and response.
